In the short term, this may result in certain drawbacks for the community but the club is determined to continue in the long term to serve them as best as it can under the circumstances.
The club’s plan of action is already launched and in the next few weeks it intends to meet with the District Council and certain sections of the community. Should the community back these plans to develop the stadium, it hopes the District Council will then issue the necessary planning consent.
The club is saddened, because it seems the stadium development might never be incorporated into the college site, however it must now forge ahead with it’s own plans. If the college site is ultimately approved as a housing project, the club wish it to be recognised that it cannot be held responsible, if the undertaking on the site brings with it a prohibitive cost to both the developer and the college. It is also mindful that due to the size of the site it may just become a waste area and may never be developed for any future use for the community.”
