Dagenham and Forest Green played out an entertaining draw at the Glyn Hopkin Stadium, with all the goals coming in the first half.

The visitors were ahead after four minutes through Matt Gadsby, but the Daggers equalised from a Glen Southam solo effort.

Rovers regained the lead thanks to Mark Beesley, but Dagenham drew level again from Chris Moore's penalty late in the first half.

Rovers were quick out of the blocks and were soon ahead. The Daggers defence failed to deal with a throw-in and the ball reached the unmarked Gadsby, whose shot flew past goalkeeper Tony Roberts.

Rovers then enjoyed a good spell of possession, but with virtually their first attack, the Daggers were level.

Southam picked up the ball on the left and as Rovers defence backed off, he rifled a shot past Dean Williams in the visiting goal.

Midway through the first half, Rovers restored their lead. Charlie Griffin's clever pass found Beesley and as Roberts came rushing off his line, the striker's cool lob found the empty Daggers net.

Both sides then had good opportunities to score, but it was a penalty from Daggers hitman Moore which drew his side level.

As Craig Mackail-Smith raced on to Southam's pass, Rovers skipper Jon Richardson hacked the Daggers striker down in the area. Moore despatched the resulting spot-kick with considerable ease for his 15th goal of the season.

The second half proved by contrast to be a tame affair.

Daggers substitute Tony Boot shot straight at Williams when well placed, but Griffin should have won it for Rovers late on, only for Roberts to produce a fine save to deny the striker.
