Forest Green Rovers remain bottom of the Nationwide Conference table but at least they picked up their first point of the campaign after seven successive defeats with a 1-1 draw against Farnborough Town at The Lawn.
Alan Lewer was appointed as Tim Harris' successor earlier in the week and he helped to transform Rovers' attitude as they produced a much-improved display.
It looked grim for the hosts though when the visitors took the lead in the 14th minute.
Lloyd Blackman scored for the third successive match with a fierce shot as Farnborough looked to secure their third win of the season.
However, Rovers were level before the interval when Charlie Griffin turned in Richard Hodgson's cross.
Rovers were hanging on in the closing stages and only an outstanding stop by Steve Perrin from Tony Taggart ensured the spoils were shared.
Rovers are now six points away from safety while Town are 16th with eight points from eight matches.
