Striker Lewis Killeen scored one and created two others as Halifax Town cruised to an easy win over shambolic Forest Green Rovers at The Shay.
Killeen, who played in a floating role behind fellow forwards Darren Mansaram and Ryan Sugden, tormented the visitors all afternoon and richly deserved the standing ovation he received when replaced by substitute Ryan Mallon six minutes from time.
Sheffield United youth product Killeen made the opener for Mansaram with a fine pass that allowed the striker, making his first start on loan from Grimsby, to crash in a low shot from close range only eight minutes into the contest.
Halifax dominated the entire game and created a stack of chances, but Killeen expectedly sealed victory early in the second half.
His superb diagonal through ball put Craig Midgley in the clear down the right, and even though Midgley ran the ball too far he was able to cut it back for Sugden to tap in at the far post.
Sugden quickly added his second of the afternoon with a close-range header from substitute Michael Senior's by-line cross before Killeen completed the rout with a clinical 15-yard strike. It took the woeful visitors until the 88th minute to finally get a shot on target. Ben Cleverley's long-range free-kick lacked the pace to trouble Town keeper Ian Dunbavin.
Rovers, who had a former Northern Ireland International Alan McLoughlin in charge for the first time after boss Tim Harris was sacked on Monday, have now lost all seven of their games this season.
They have also conceded 25 goals and scored only three times so far this term, and today's result is the fourth time they have conceded four goals.
Today's efforts were reward for Rovers' hardly band of two dozen travelling fans who made the long journey up from Gloucestershire.
