Yeovil's stuttering form at the top of the Nationwide Conference could be a thing of the past if the first half of this holiday derby is used as a guide.
After a shock defeat at Forest Green, on Boxing Day they put Colin Addison's team under pressure and hit both the post and the crossbar in the opening nine minutes.
When Gavin Williams had strong penalty appeals turned down in the 16th minute they began to fear another blank and the big holiday crowd of 4,692 was edgy as the goal the Glovers deserved failed to materialize.
Williams and McIndoe were the players who hit the woodwork early on and on 17 minutes visiting Steve Perrin, who broke Yeovil hearts on Boxing Day made a great save from Colin Pluck.
Rovers were dangerous on the break, especially through Kayode Odejayi and he came closest to scoring for them in the first half with Chris Weale saving bravely at his feet after the big striker had given Adam Lockwood the slip.
Yeovil lost their way for a time early in the second period and Alex Sykes brought a great save from Weale in the 53rd minute.
Yeovil then lost Terry Skiverton six minutes later for six stitches in a knee wound but ten minutes later Yeovil got the goal they deserved from Kirk Jackson, who had by far his best game since his move from Stevenage.
He came in at the far post to knock in a precision cross from Nick Crittenden .
The visitors had five players booked all for fouls and Kevin Langan was lucky to avoid a second for a crashing foul.
